Next time you visit Sun Peaks you will probably notice a new speed limit sign. The new rule is that the speed limit is 30 km/h throughout Sun Peaks with the exception of the main road leading to the village. This change has been implemented in November of 2020.
All side roads have now new signs. Fairways Drive is a good example.
The main road; however, has the same speed limit as before, which is 50 km/h. By the way, this speed limit is 50 km/h, not at least 50 km/h as some drivers would prefer.
All roads on the other side of the village also have the 30 km/h speed limit. This picture shows the sign on the Valley Drive beyond the village between McGillivray Creek townhouses and Crystal Forest complex.
Just before the village you will find out that the 30 km/h speed limit has been moved further away from the village.
